The Galloway School is seeking an After Care Teacher to join our team.
After Care Teachers are responsible for assisting with the school dismissal process at the end of the school day and providing supervision and care to our students after school hours from 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
We seek candidates who are kind, patient, and compassionate in their work with children who will create a nurturing and supportive learning environment for our students in our After Care program.
This is an hourly, part-time position working approximately 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday during the school year. Compensation range of $12 - $14 per hour depending on experience.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, be at least 18 years of age, have childcare experience and be someone who enjoys working with and teaching children. Preferred experience includes those candidates with early childhood education, teaching and classroom experience and those with CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
- Providing after school care to our students ages 2 – 5th grade from 3:00pm – 6:30 pm
- Assisting with the school dismissal process
- Providing homework help as needed
- Serving provided snack to students
- Supervising playground and outdoor activities
- Providing and supervising age-appropriate activities
- Maintaining documentation and records
- Communicating effectively with children, parents and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrating enthusiasm, energy, initiative, and self-reflection
- Motivating and engaging students
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- A High School Diploma
- Childcare experience
- Ability to be adaptable to meet the individual needs of each child
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Successful completion of background checks and verification
- A belief in the Christian faith and a desire to work in a Christian environment is preferred
