The Galloway School is seeking a committed, experienced educator to join our team as an Upper School Teacher beginning August 2025.
As an Upper School Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching approximately 14 students, continuing to develop students critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills through engaging learning that challenges and differentiates based on student needs.
Core subjects are taught within a workshop model using an advanced curriculum integrated with technological skills, project-based activities, and STEM challenges to foster discovery, exploratory learning, collaboration, and student-centered development of ideas and solutions.
Each teacher is an integral part of the Upper School team that plans and works closely together.
Responsibilities:
- Teach one classroom of approximately 14 students
- Model and guide students in a Christian environment that promotes responsibility, perseverance, caring, and open-mindedness within our global community
- Employ current pedagogies, including project-based learning
- Deliver innovative curriculum that integrates technology and STEM challenges intentionally and appropriately
- Participate in grade-level, divisional, and all-school teams
- Develop and practice cultural competence in teaching and teamwork
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
- Perform other related duties as required such as carline duty, recess, etc.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, initiative, and self-reflection
- Motivate and engage students
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or higher
- Teaching certification for the grade-level applying
- Two year's full-time teaching experience preferred
- The ability to exercise wise judgment and prudent decision making
- A belief in the Christian faith and a desire to work in a Christian environment preferred
- Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background check and maintain clearance while employed
